Sometimes, it seems that our last few days together before parting are among our best. The Monday before Brady left for JRTC we spent the day playing together on post. Although our dates are always varied, this day our idea of "playing" together was creating and organizing our wills and power of attorney. A first for us, and we made it fun by dining on Commissary sushi boxes for lunch, along with discussing the pros and cons of organ donation afterards.
Today, marriage is
pondering the value of
life, death, and sushi.
My haiku! :)
Following this errand-turned-date, Brady finished some paperwork at the airfield while I prepared for an Italian Renaissance midterm. But the fun did not conclude with notarized signatures (LOTS, by the way!) and pale green wasabi (I must confess they do that root better in Japan). We welcomed in October by dressing up Wal-Mart pumpkins and You-Tubing Halloween videos.
While we admit that we spent way too much time decorating, and by so doing procrastinated Brady's absorbitant amount of packing, at times we were just way too mesmerized by Michael Jackson's zombie dance moves to paint. Or Charlie Brown's continual reception of rocks in his trick or treat bag.
And for Brady's last meal? Hawaiian Pizza. We used our Williams-Sonoma Bride and Groom Cookbook to find a homemade pizza dough recipe, and it is delicious!!! Delicate taste and the perfect harmony of softitity and crispiliciousness.
And although he's gone for the next little bit, we have such a lovely memory to look back on. And soon he'll be home again and we can make many more :)
